my hp pics...

i luv my hp...it may not be e most expensive model, but i just like e colour combination, e way it fits perfectly with my hp cover...listening to my mp3s and taking snapshots any time i feel like it...
PAH...one of e walls we painted...
ikea...such a familiar sight!
Guess where? e reflection of e clouds on e building...
marina bay...taken from a food court @ marina square
@ central
went out with my mum on thurs...we ate at this japanese restaurant called kyomomoyama...it was such an indulgence, cos' we each ate e sakura set! [they were having a 2 for 1 offer for the sakura sets with stand chart cards]...e setting was great too, relaxed and peaceful.

Episode 30

11.23pm..finally finished episode 30...e ending is ??! fann wong just left edmund chen and chen hanwei standing there and walked off...

no wonder they so often say that the process is more important...somehow, drama serials tend to be captivating in the 1-29 episodes and disappointing in the 30th episode[esp if there's a love triangle...e.g. the first series of e hk drama "ah-wang"]...[of cos with the exceptions of those clear-cut happy ending shows...]

note: my mum and I have two different styles of watching drama...i would watch 1-30 episodes and scream at anyone who reveals what will happen next, whereas my mum is realli one who will just download the 30th episode and is alwiz asking me to tell her e ending if i have watched the show before...*faint

Intriguing.

Mobtv...i'm caught up with watching "Women of Times" Episode 8, with 22 more episodes to go...i dunno y on earth i am glued to my laptop screen?! it's a show i wanted to watch when i was in Stockholm...1 and a half years ago...

it's disturbing watching certain scenes, esp e badmouthing by Huang Yiliang, shouting by Aileen Tan, who plays a realli hot-tempered career woman who cares less for anybody's feelings...and e infidelity of Edmund Chen, it's so ironic how he can say he loves his wife but he still fools around?...
but i realli like watching Zheng Peipei, how she holds up the family and commands respect, how she deals with issues in such a calm manner...and e relationships of the younger generation...Felicia Chin & Jesseca Liu! they are such fresh personalities...

let's see how this show ends...argh 22*45min=16.5 hrs to go...

what am i doing?!

tauhuay is nuts.

Tau Huay is in a tired mode...tired from doing nothing. tired from watching mobtv. tired from thinking. tired of walking. tired of myself at times.

Find me a Singaporean...

Thanks to MobTV, I managed to catch the entire series 'Find me a Singaporean'~ hosted by wacky, cheerful Berlinda Lee who has such a great personality! #1: Singaporean Ravi Rai @Uttar Pradesh (India’s poorest state)
Leaving his comfortable home in Singapore and his highly paid job as a civil engineer, Ravi begins his journey to provide warmth and shelter for the children in India...
[one of the most touching episodes where you really experience the innocence of the children inspite of their harsh living conditions...and it was really moving when Ravi talked about his father's support for his work...]

#2: Singaporean couple, Ricky and Laura @Malta (half the size of S'pore)
Ricky takes on an overseas job assignment to work at the port in Malta. With his wife Laura accompanying him, the couple forges a closer and stronger relationship in the foreign land.

#3:Singaporeans Meiling (ex-engineer), Enxin and YunJun (husband and wife) @Peru
The 3 Singaporeans are social workers that have set up a "Generations Acts Club", in order to educate youths and give them hope for a brighter future.
[Words of Advice from them: Don't look back and regret when you are 50 years old. Do it (whatever your heart desires) when you are still young!]

#4:Singaporean YanFei @Iceland
YanFei moved to Iceland to set up a family with her husband some years back, and in this episode, she describes some of the struggles in adapting to an unfamilar country. She is now working at a museum, settled down in a job she loves and at the same time, enjoying her family life.

#5:Singaporean Priscilla @Montpellier (City in the South of France, one tenth the size of S'pore)
An individual that clearly identifies her passion and direction in life, Priscilla is currently setting up a wine restaurant hotel business with her boyfriend.

[e grape vineyards featured in this episode are so beautiful...]

#6: Singaporean YanLan @Kenya
A woman with a great heart to turn the helpless children to a better person to contribute to the country, YanLan's strong personality and determination inspires.
[was v touched when she talked about how hands are not meant for beating, but for loving and hugging...]

#7: Singaporean Cynthia @Norway
Cynthia left Singapore to join her Norwegian Husband to set up a a cozy family in Norway. (Her son is so adorable, and I didn't know that National Day in Norway is also Children's Day (17th May) till I watched this episode...)

#8:Fangfang @ Fugong, China
Involved in helping orphans and nursing the mentally ill back to health, Fangfang is enjoying a peaceful and idyllic life in Fugong while engaging herself in meaningful social work.
[i found myself reflecting about the scene when Belinda was in tears after seeing one of the mentally ill kept in a wooden cage up the mountains ever since he was 18...like belinda says, it is really shocking...it was also really upsetting to see the baby with very bad burnt wounds on the legs, but there's no proper medical help provided for the villagers that live in these rural areas up in the mountains...]

#9:Cindy @Alexandria
Currently living in Egypt with her husband, daughter and son, Cindy is cheerful housewife that misses her family back in Singapore...

#10: Adriel @Papua New Guinea
A logistic manager on a 3-years overseas assignment (also involved in building a church in the area), Adriel is married with a lovey wife and cute baby son. [ such a happy happy family!]

7 years of courtship, and a new beginning of a marriage! =)

PAH

Paint-a-Home by NUS CSC

Venue: Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled

Date: 2nd June, Saturday

No photos this time =)

but e experience realli changed my perspective towards certain issues in life, and I walked away from the Home feeling somewhat touched..

Besides giving the rooms @ e Home a new coat of paint in the morning, we were given the chance to interact with the residents thru activities in the afternoon...

for one thing, i have a newfound respect for the nurses at the Home..They are realli good (and very cool!) in handling difficult residents...and i can realli see the great deal of love and patience they need to have to be able to communicate with the residents at the Home...

Generally, i think we are not realli taught the right ways to handle and interact with the intellectually disabled...for the first time in my life, i was up- close with the residents, and it was so overwhelming [it's an understatement really], and I had a sense of helplessness as to how I should interact with them...but things got much better after a male resident in a wheelchair smiled at us, and asked us if we had eaten our lunch in teochew...den we started playing simple games like passing the parcel, and musical chairs, where I held an auntie's hands and led her around the chairs...you realli can see how happy the residents are, dancing to the rhythm of the music, and singing children songs...and also saw another auntie holding a soft toy dog affectionately... and lots of other scenes happening around me.. but i muz say that the happiest moments were shaking their hands and seeing their smiling faces [the residents' way of saying hello & being friendly] =)

e last part was realli tiring, cos' we had to clean all the painting equipment, wiping endless paintbrushes and containers...

but i am really thankful for this experience, and on top of that, had fun chatting with the rest of the volunteers! feel young all over again!
