Rainbow...

May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.

life on a ship...

took a walk at vivocity on fri... kids were happily playing w water on e deck, open spaces...

saw e magnificent Doulos...boarded e ship w kelly (she was commenting how she felt like she was on an adventure/boarding titanic).. somehow, was reminded of e Vasa in Stockholm.. (The Vasa is the world’s only surviving 17th-century ship) below: pics from my visit to the Vasa Museum...
wonder what is life like on a ship.. braving through storms...sailing in calm waters...feeling e sea breeze...vast waters...

Chado...

went to Chado exhibition at e Japanese Association w wendy on sunday....we were brought thru 4 unique experiences: e tea cermonies in spring, summer, autumn and winter....besides being an onlooker, i took part in e autumn tea cermony as a "guest", and had to kneel down throughout e whole process...e stages of e tea ceremony consists of e guest admiring the scroll and flowers in e room/outdoor setting, e host cleaning e cups and preparing e tea, and lastly, e guest admiring e tea cups and tea lids..it was realli q embarrassing cos at e end of it, i couldn't even stand up cos my ankles were numb...and when i tried to walk, i had a rush of pins and needles and was rooted to e ground for 5 min?!

but i was truly amazed by the tea ceremony process...it realli reflects a form of discipline in the Japanese, the beauty of their culture...all e little intricate details and thoughts that are put into designing the layout of the room, each step of making e tea, and even the actions of how a guest should receive and return the tea cup to e host...
and they even have matching tea cup designs and japanese cakes/desserts that are specially created for the different seasons of e year...(got e pics below from Wendy's book) too lovely to be eaten!

...was talking to wendy, discussing our japanese essay...wendy is realli an inspiration...her passion for design, and her ideas towards certain issues (regarding design, lifestyle and culture) are alwiz brought across strongly...and she alwiz manages to tell me so many interesting stories cos' she reads widely...from books, magazines....she's truly an amazing person... =) it's realli funny how one can realli feel cultured, reflective and philosophical when talking to wendy chua.

somehow, feel that she'll realli make it big in e design scene one day... =)

seeking perfection...

"Behold a perfect day in the early 21st century: your eyes are opened by a couple of perfect mugs of coffee made automatically by your perfect coffee make. You work out in your home gym in pursuit of the perfect body....On the way to work, everyone jabbers on mobile phone in pursuit of perfect reception, as do you. You spend ten hours at your terminal in your closed-off office in perfect isolation, where you pay your bills and make other financial transactions perfectly without needing a bank teller, and send e-mails to those with whom you maintain perfect friendships, though you haven't seen one another in years. In fact, no-one has actually spoken to you all day...." ---extract from an article in Reader's Digest

wat a perfect life...wat a sad life...
